A Brief History of Papercraft


Paper models, also often called card models or papercraft, is a model built from sheets of heavy paper, cardboard or cardstock.
Papercraft can be considered as a broad category that contains origami and card modeling. Origami is a paper model making process by folding the paper without using glue. Card modeling make a scale model of a sheet of cardstock that each piece is printed. Each piece will be cut, folded, collated and glued. Card Modeling is very popular in Europe and Japan than in the United States and other countries.
Printed card models became the talk of the magazine at the beginning of the 20th century. Modeling Card popularity boom during World War II.
Micromodels, created and published in England in 1941 which is very popular with 100 different models, including architecture, ships, and aircraft. But the current model is made of plastic easy to obtain, interest in paper decreased.
But who were the first to publish papercraft?
